Festival of Tables Spring Banquet

Monday, May 14, 6:30pm, Student Center.    TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED BETWEEN SERVICES FOR $15.  DEADLINE TO PURCHASE IS MAY 6TH.

Ladies, it's time to pull out all your creativity and decorate a table for the Spring Banquet! We are so honored to have as our guest speakers, Linda and Jen Barrick. (Linda is Ed Hindson's daughter.) The Barricks were involved in a life-threatening car wreck in November 2006 in Lynchburg. Jen was in a coma for almost 6 months. You don't want to miss their powerful testimony of God's grace! 

A "Festival of Tables" is making each table at a banquet look different. If you would like to host a round table of 6, here is the information:  

• Personally invite 5 women to be your guest. 
• Decorate your table with any theme of choice. 
• Provide 6 place settings (dinner plates, dessert plates, silverware, glasses, coffee cups, and napkins). 
• Your table must have some sort of lighting on it. Candles or battery-operated candles or Christmas lights are a few suggestions. 
• Provide a small, inexpensive party favor or gift for your guests at each setting that goes along with your theme. 
• Your table can be childlike, simple, crazy, thought-provoking or extremely elegant! 
• Contact Vanessa or Renee to sign up to host a table. 

For those who do not want to host a table, tickets are on sale during 8:15am service and between the other services in the lobby.

Tuesday Morning Summer Bible Study

Dear Bible students,

We will resume Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible study on June 5, with a study of the classic book Calvary Road, by Roy Hession.   The author simply and clearly explains the process of sanctification, through surrendering all, for those who are willing to seek the Lord with all their heart. This is not another self help book but a most humbling revelation of the sin we fail or refuse to see, which keeps us from an intimate walk with Jesus. Since 1950, when the book was first published, countless readers have testified to a life changing experience from the study of Calvary Road.  We will use a Bible study guide by Stephen C. McCary to help us examine the vital biblical principles that Mr. Hession covers.

Our summer meetings will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 (note difference from our regular meeting time) for 7 weeks.  Child care will be available, but it is important that you let me know soon if you will be needing it so that we can make arrangements. 

The cost of the book and study guide combined is $8.50.  I will need to know soon how many are coming since to will have to make a run to Scripture Truth in Fincastle to purchase the books; I will order the study guides from Amazon. So please let me know soon if you are planning to come.
