Local Opportunities

3rd Annual Mission: Roanoke
Dates: June 24 – July 1    Location: Roanoke, VA
Cost: $100 individual or $250 family
Join together as the body of Christ to take the message of Jesus Christ
to our community and our city. Choose from the following teams: Prayer,
VBS, Knock’in and Rock’in, Service Projects, Kitchen, Childcare,
Proceeds for Poverty with Global Partners, and our big Community Day
Event at the end of the week.

Salem Fair
Dates: July 3-15        Location: Salem, VA
Deadline:  May 25 (CEF application and background check required)
Description: Partner with Child Evangelism Fellowship to share the
message of Jesus Christ with our neighbors and friends right here in the
Roanoke Valley. Help is needed preparing packets to be handed out,
inviting children to the CEF booth, face painting and sharing the Gospel
through the Wordless Book.  Balloon ministry or Gospel Illusions are
also helpful. Participate in as many days as you are able.

World Changers
Dates: July 7-14            Location: Roanoke, VA
Cost: Approximately $30-$50
Each year, hundreds of students from across the country come to Roanoke
to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of others through
practical learning experiences that teach servant-hood and personal
commitment to missions.  Your responsibility would be to provide lunch
to a group of approximately 15 students for one day (you choose which
day works best for you) at their worksite.

Camp Jubilee (Day Camp)
Dates: August 13-17, 8AM – 5PM     Location: Salem, VA    Cost: Free
Bring joy to a child’s heart at Camp Jubilee – a day camp for children
residing at the Roanoke City Rescue Mission. This outreach gives needy
children a glimpse of the true love of Christ.  Join the team this
summer and you will leave changed. Participate in as many days as you
are able.

Host a 5 Day Club. Neighborhood Ministry
Dates: June 25-29; July 2-6 & August 13-17
Location: Your Back Yard      Cost: Free
Host a 5 Day Club in your back yard! A host opens their house or yard to
children in their neighborhood (ages 5-12) to hear an Evangelistic
Bible Lesson for 5 consecutive days. You choose a time that best fits
your schedule (June 25-29; July 2-6 & August 13-17 at 9 AM, 11 AM or
1 PM). A trained CEF Missionary will run the club. Your responsibility
is to pray, invite the children, provide a safe environment and watch
God at work in the lives of the precious boys and girls!

Statewide Opportunities

Appalachian Region, Families on Mission
Dates: June 24-29 (same week as Mission: Roanoke)
Location: Bluefield, VA               Level of Intensity: Low-Medium
Cost: $200-$300/person            Deadline: June 1
Families on Mission will be in Bluefield, VA, working with Crosspointe
Community Fellowship to conduct the largest VBS they have ever done.
Families can go on-mission together to reach Bluefield for Christ. If
time allows in the afternoons after VBS, we may help with some local
light construction and painting at the schools. Go to www.scbv.org and

Global Opportunities

Haiti, Families on Mission
Dates: August 4-11           Location: Port Au Prince, Haiti
Level of Intensity: Medium-High
Restrictions: passport, good health
Cost: $1300 (discount available for families of 4 or more) – cost does not include passport or vaccines
Deadline: $100 non-refundable deposit due April 1 Share and show God’s
love to the hurting people of Haiti whose lives were forever changed
after the earthquake in 2010. Many are still searching for answers. 
Bring help and hope through possible ministry opportunities such as:
construction, street evangelism, medical work, leadership training,
teaching children, working with orphans and more! Families are welcome.
There will also be another trip through Global Partners from July 7-14
if the August date with the church does not work for you.

Uganda, Equipping, Evangelism and Orphan Ministry
Dates: September 10-22            Location: Jinja, Uganda
Level of Intensity: Medium     Restrictions: passport, visa, good health
Cost: $2,500 – cost does not include passport, visa and vaccines
Deadline: $250 non-refundable deposit due May 1
Partner with our missionaries, Terry & Debbie Nester to share God’s
love with the beautiful Ugandan people. Opportunities to go hut-to-hut
in villages to share the Gospel, strengthen some new church plants
through discipleship and evangelism, do light construction work at the
community development project in Bulega, love on orphan children, and
encourage national believers that you will serve with throughout the
week.

Thailand, Evangelism and Equipping
Dates: October 8-18                     Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Level of Intensity: Medium      Restrictions: passport, good health
Cost: $2,500 – cost does not include passport or vaccines
Deadline: $250 non-refundable deposit due May 15
Travel to the beautiful city of Bangkok, where the majority of people
practice a form of Buddhism. Partner with our missionary, Ann Nagy, to
share God’s hope and love at Chulalongkorn University, one of the many
major universities located in this large city. Help do survey work that
provides an easy transition into sharing the Gospel with students. In
the evenings, help teach English and Bible classes at the local Baptist
Student Center. Help plan and participate in a weekend camp where we
will get to spend more intimate time with university students.
